Indications:

Lifilofupin capsules are a powerful antibacterial drug that can combat various bacterial infections, including tuberculosis and some diseases caused by severe pathogens. It works by interfering with the replication of bacterial genetic material, preventing bacteria from reproducing and surviving.

Contra-indications:

People who are allergic to any component of Rifampicin Capsules, especially those who are allergic to rifamycin-type antibacterial drugs, must absolutely not use it.

Adverse Effects:

Digestive system: Stomach burning sensation, upper abdominal discomfort, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, yellowing of the skin, abdominal distension and pain, diarrhea. In severe cases, intestinal inflammation (pseudomembranous colitis) may occur.
Liver reaction: May cause abnormal liver function indicators (such as elevated bilirubin and transaminase levels), hepatitis. In severe cases, shock may occur along with abnormal liver function.

Drug Interactions:

When used in combination with antifungal drugs such as miconazole and ketoconazole, their efficacy will be reduced. Such concurrent use should be avoided.
It will reduce the effectiveness of contraceptive pills, leading to unplanned pregnancies. During the medication period, non-drug contraceptive methods such as condoms should be used instead.
When used in combination with colchicine (a drug for treating gout), the risk of poisoning may increase. Therefore, combined use is not recommended.

Precautions & Warning:

When rifampicin is used alone to treat tuberculosis or other bacterial infections, the bacteria may quickly develop resistance, so it must be used in combination with other drugs. The entire treatment process may last from 6 months to 2 years, and some patients may even need to take the medication for an even longer period.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Pregnant women: Drugs can affect the fetus through the placenta. Animal experiments have shown that they may cause fetal abnormalities. Although there are no clear human teratogenic cases at present, it is strictly prohibited to use drugs during the first three months of pregnancy, and a strict assessment by a doctor is required after three months.
Lactating women: Drugs can be passed to the baby through breast milk. Whether to use medication must be weighed by the doctor between the therapeutic effect and the safety of the baby.

Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:

Stop taking the medicine immediately;
Perform gastric lavage (as the patient may experience nausea and vomiting at this time, induced vomiting is not recommended), and after the lavage, use activated carbon to adsorb the remaining drugs; In cases of severe nausea and vomiting, antiemetic drugs should also be used;
Use intravenous infusion combined with diuretics to accelerate the excretion of the drugs from the body.
