AMLODIPINE BESYLATE TABLET 10MG

Indications:

Amlodipine tablets are a commonly used medication for treating hypertension and angina pectoris. Their main function is to relax blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and improve blood supply to the heart.

Contra-indications:

People allergic to drug components: If you have ever experienced an allergic reaction to amlodipine, then you must absolutely not use it.

Adverse Effects:

Cardiovascular: Facial flushing (1-3 people out of every 100), accelerated heartbeat (about 4.5%), edema in hands and feet (about 10.8%).
Digestive: Abdominal dull pain (1.6%), nausea and vomiting (2.9%).
Nervous: Dizziness (3.4%), headache (7.3%), excessive sleepiness (1.4%).
General symptoms: Easily fatigued (4.5%).

Drug Interactions:

Enhanced blood pressure-lowering effect: Diltiazem (cardiovascular medication), Ketoconazole (antifungal drug), Clarithromycin (antibiotic). During concurrent use, blood pressure needs to be closely monitored.
Reduced blood pressure-lowering effect: Rifampicin (antibiotic for tuberculosis).

Precautions & Warning:

Amlodipine, as a long-acting blood pressure-lowering drug, only needs to be taken once a day to maintain stable blood pressure throughout the day. During the use, special attention should be paid: The drug needs to be taken continuously for 7-8 days to achieve a stable effect. If you forget to take the medicine, you should determine whether to take a supplement based on the time of the missed dose.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Pregnant women and lactating women should completely avoid it.

Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:

Excessive consumption may lead to dangerous situations: 

excessive dilation of blood vessels causing severe hypotension;

The body compensates for the drop in blood pressure by accelerating the heart rate;
Immediate electrocardiogram monitoring and cardiovascular support treatment are required.
If it is discovered that an overdose has occurred, immediately call the emergency number and take the patient to the hospital for professional treatment.
