COTRIMOXAZOLE TABLET 480MG

Indications:

It is currently mainly used to treat infections caused by pathogens that remain sensitive to these drugs. These drugs are often used to treat acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections, and can also be used in combination with other antibacterial drugs to treat conditions such as otitis media and Nocardia asteroides infections.

Contra-indications:

It is prohibited for those who are allergic to sulfonamide anti-inflammatory drugs to use it.

Adverse Effects:

Mild cases may result in rashes, while severe cases can lead to extensive red patches, skin peeling, blisters and other severe dermatitis. Some people may also experience symptoms similar to allergies such as photophobia, fever and joint pain.

Drug Interactions:

1. When used in combination with drugs that make urine alkaline, it will accelerate the rate at which the drugs are excreted from the body.
2. It cannot be used simultaneously with para-aminobenzoic acid. These two components will counteract each other's efficacy.

Precautions & Warning:

Taking medication for a long time (more than one week) may affect the production of B vitamins in the intestines. It is recommended to take vitamin B supplements at the same time.

Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:

Pregnant and lactating women are prohibited from using it.

Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:

When the concentration of the drug in the blood exceeds 200 micrograms per milliliter, the risk of adverse reactions significantly increases. If the dosage is excessive, closely monitor the body's reactions. If any discomfort occurs, contact a doctor immediately.
